In early 2014 I came across a photo of the costume designer for the TV show Glee, Lou Eyrich, who wore a temporary tattoo to the 2011 Emmy Awards when she was bald due to chemotherapy. The design was quite beautiful. It looked like hair in the front and morphed into a graphic design in the back. This gave me the idea that I could transform my bald head into a work of art.

Once I decided to really do a tattoo myself I began looking online for other women who had done full head tattoos. I found an article was about a woman in the UK, Ann McDonald, who had blazed the trail I was attempting to follow. Based on her design I assume that she was inspired by the same photos of Lou Eyrich that I had seen. But overall I didn’t find as many stories as I had hoped to find. That’s the main reason that I am documenting my tattoo on this site.
